WASHINGTON – Registration opened this week for the 43rd ACLI Capital Challenge race, scheduled for Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at Anacostia Park in Washington D.C.
The 3-mile event, which features teams from the Legislative, Executive and Judicial branches of the federal government and the media, benefits Junior Achievement USA. In addition, record-setting American distance runner Keira D’Amato will be the race’s celebrity runner.
“Everyone who participates will be helping Junior Achievement, which provides financial education for more than 4.6 million students across the country,” said David Chavern, American Council of Life Insurers President and CEO. “We’re excited to have Keira D’Amato join our nation’s leaders once again at the ACLI Capital Challenge in May.”
Since the Capital Challenge’s inception in 1981, the race has hosted one sitting Vice President and two future VPs, four Supreme Court Justices, numerous Presidential candidates, Cabinet Members, Congressional leaders and many prominent members of the Washington press corps.
All entry fees from the participants and donations from the race sponsors will be given to Junior Achievement USA. Junior Achievement programs in all 50 states give young people the knowledge and skills they need to own their economic success, plan for their future, and make smart academic and financial choices.
