WASHINGTON – Columbian Financial Group President & CEO Michael C.S. Fosbury is the 2024 recipient of the American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI) Forum 500 Distinguished Service Award. The award is presented annually to a Forum 500 member whose work epitomizes the life insurance industry’s mission to help all Americans achieve financial certainty and peace of mind. The ACLI Forum 500 is composed of small- and medium-sized life insurance companies serving consumers in communities across the United States.

Mr. Fosbury joined Columbian Financial Group (CFG) in February 2003 as Vice President and Chief Investment Officer. He was named Chief Operating Officer in December 2014. In 2015, he was named President and joined CFG’s Board of Directors, and in 2017 became President and CEO. He currently serves on CFG’s Executive, Finance, Marketing, and Technology Committees. Before CFG he held investment banking and institutional fixed income portfolio management positions.
Mr. Fosbury is a past Chair of the Medical Information Bureau (MIB) and the ACLI Forum 500. He also is a former member of the ACLI Board of Directors, Past chair, Life Insurers Council, and a former board member of the Life Insurance Council of New York (LICONY).
He is active in his community serving on various non-profit boards in the Binghamton, NY area. He and his wife reside in Vestal, NY.
Mr. Fosbury holds an MBA from the University of Louisville and a BBA with a major in Finance from the University of Tennessee. He received the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification in 1992. He has spoken at various industry conferences on municipal single-family housing bonds and taught classes on futures and options for the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and the U.S. League of Savings and Loans.
