WASHINGTON – The American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI) has hired Carrie Haughawout as Vice President, Life Insurance and Regulatory Policy. She will report to ACLI Executive Vice President and General Counsel Jillian Froment.

“Carrie brings to ACLI a strong understanding of the role insurance regulation plays in protecting consumers and ensuring their access to financial protection,” said Froment. “Her experience will be instrumental to our work in support of policies that make certain all Americans have the tools they need to secure their families’ financial future.”

Prior to joining ACLI, Haughawout worked for the Ohio Department of Insurance, most recently as Deputy Director. She also has served as Director for Health Care and Small Business at the Ohio Chamber of Commerce and as Director of Legislative Services and Chapter Development at the American Association for Health Freedom. In addition, Haughawout has worked for the Ohio House of Representatives as Legislative Policy Advisor and Administrative Aide.

Haughawout has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Dayton.
