ACLI's Rising Leader program is a professional development and leadership program recognizing ACLI member company employees and promoting the advancement of future industry leaders. Understanding titles and management experience vary within companies, we've provided a list below of sample titles.

Candidates must work for an ACLI life insurance member company at the time of the ACLI Annual Conference (September 27-29, 2023, Washington, D.C.) and meet the criteria below:

  • Sustained career progress with proven track record of success
  • Proven leadership ability in and outside the industry
  • Professional service: volunteer contributions to industry-related, charitable, or civic groups

Applications can be submitted using the Rising Leader Program Nomination online form and providing the documents listed below to RisingLeaders@acli.com no later than June 30, 2023:

  • Rising Leader Nomination Form
  • Current copy of resume/CV
  • Current copy of bio
  • One letter of recommendation. The letter must include the recommender's name, company, title, email address and phone number.

There is no program participation fee. However, there are expenses associated with attending in-person events and conferences. Learn more by clicking on "Application FAQs" under Nominee Checklist, above.

The nomination form and materials submitted to RisingLeaders@acli.com are due June 30, 2023.

This multifaceted year-long program combines in-person and virtual meetings. Rising Leaders will gather in person at the ACLI Annual Conference 2023 (mandatory), have the option to attend other ACLI conferences in 2023/2024 at a discounted rate, and participate in a one-day Rising Leader conference in Washington, D.C. Once candidates have completed the requirements to graduate, the program culminates at the ACLI Annual Conference 2024, when the inaugural class of graduates will be recognized.

  • Attend the ACLI Annual Conference 2023 in Washington, DC (Sept 27-29, 2023)
  • Complete a minimum of 12 hours of professional development
  • Participate in at least one (1) ACLI Federal Legislative Strategy Group call
  • Participate in at least one (1) ACLI State Legislative Strategy Group call
  • Required to sign up as an interested party for an ACLI formal committee

No, each participant will be part of a "class" of honorees, e.g., the class of 2024.

Yes, nominees representing different department areas can be submitted.

ACLI Rising Leaders are the upcoming decision makers in their respective areas. This is a great opportunity to connect and provide insight into your products and services, brand visibility, and the opportunity to build relations with future industry leaders.

Nominations must be originated by an ACLI member company employee. We welcome you to encourage members that you work with to submit an application or nomination. Applications can be submitted using the form linked to above and sending documents to RisingLeaders@acli.com no later than June 30, 2023.

Yes, companies that partner with us will be able to have an attendee at the Financial & Investment Roundtable and the Senior Investment Managers Seminar.

No, you will be a partner during the "class" of Rising Leaders (e.g., the class of 2024).
