Genworth Financial Chairman, President & CEO Michael D. Fraizer to Chair ACLI.
Washington, D.C. (Oct. 18, 2010) — The American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI), whose member companies provide financial and retirement security to millions of consumers, elected its 2011 Chairman and Board of Directors today at its 2010 Annual Conference, Insuring the Future.
Elected as Chairman was Michael D. Fraizer, Chairman, President and CEO of Genworth Financial. Mr. Fraizer will serve as Chairman for one year.
“Mike Fraizer is a proven industry leader. He has a strong commitment to our industry’s core mission of helping Americans achieve financial and retirement security. These qualities, combined with his deep understanding of the key issues affecting the life insurance industry and its policyholders, make him an ideal choice to be ACLI’s Chairman,” said ACLI President and CEO Frank Keating.
ACLI also elected Ted Mathas, Chairman, President and CEO of New York Life Insurance Company to its Chairman-Elect position. He will assume the chairmanship in October 2011. ACLI’s Chairman-Elect designate post was awarded to James T. Morris, Chairman, President and CEO of Pacific Life Insurance Company. He will take over as ACLI Chairman in October 2012. C. Robert Henrikson, Chairman, President and CEO of MetLife, will serve as ACLI Immediate Past Chairman in the coming year.
The Chairman and Board of Directors set policy and guide the actions of the association, which represents the life insurance industry in Washington, D.C., and the states.
