Jill Kozeny serves as Executive Vice President & Chief Advocacy Officer at the American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI). Kozeny is a member of the Executive Management Team and reports to the President and CEO. Kozeny leads ACLI’s Advocacy Teams — including Federal and State Government Relations, Research, Communications, and Grassroots — seeking public policies to help more Americans build greater financial certainty through all stages of life.
Kozeny joined the ACLI after three decades of success on Capitol Hill where she was Chief of Staff to U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley during two Supreme Court confirmations and major challenges to renewable energy policy. She led policy communications for the Senate Committee on Finance including tax, retirement, health care, international trade, and government reform policies and oversight from 2000 through 2010. During this time, the Finance Committee led passage of major tax relief and reform, created the Medicare prescription drug benefit, and approved numerous international trade agreements, among other bipartisan initiatives.
Kozeny serves on the NAIFA Industry Leadership Board, the Public Affairs Council Board, and the Congressional Management Foundation Awards Selection Committee. She is a volunteer with the Iowa State Society and resides on Capitol Hill.
Kozeny has a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
