Washington D.C.— Sherry Martin, Vice President of Policyholder Services, Life & Property Casualty for Farm Bureau Life Insurance of Michigan, is the 2019 recipient of the American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI) Forum 500 Distinguished Service Award.
The award is presented annually to a member of the ACLI Forum 500 whose work exemplifies life insurers’ commitment to providing all Americans with the financial and retirement security they want and need. The Forum 500 is composed of small- and medium-sized life insurance companies that serve consumers in communities across the United States.
“Thanks to her leadership and dedication to her policyholders, Sherry has helped countless consumers achieve their financial and retirement security goals,” said ACLI President and CEO Susan Neely. “Her peers in the Forum 500 have chosen to honor her years of service with this prestigious award.”
After earning a degree in business administration from Western Michigan University, Martin began her career in banking and later worked in life underwriting for Minnesota Mutual. She joined Farm Bureau Insurance in 1989 and was appointed Vice President of Policyholder Services, Life & Property Casualty in 2003.
Martin serves on the ACLI Forum 500 Board of Governors, which she chaired in 2014. She also serves on the Board of the Society of Financial Service Professionals, the Michigan Life & Health Guaranty Association Board of Directors, the Olivet College Insurance Advisory Board and the Life Insurance Association of Michigan Board.
She has earned the Associate of the Academy of Life Underwriting, Chartered Life Underwriter—American College, the Fellow of the Life Management Institute, the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter, and the Chartered Financial Consultant designations.
