Washington, D.C. (August 8, 2018) – The American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI) will hold its Annual Conference Oct. 7-9, at the Renaissance Washington, D.C. Downtown Hotel. Building on the theme, “Creating Connections & Seizing Opportunities,” the conference will explore the industry’s increasingly important role in Americans’ financial and retirement plans.

Led by ACLI Chairman Mark Mullin, president and CEO of Transamerica Corporation, and new ACLI President and CEO Susan Neely, speakers and panels will discuss the legislative and regulatory landscape influencing the industry and the financial protections it provides to millions of American families.

During the conference, JoAnn Martin, CEO of Ameritas, will succeed Mr. Mullin as chair of the ACLI Board of Directors. Ms. Martin will serve as chair through October 2019.

Trish Regan, Fox Business Network anchor and markets correspondent, will emcee the conference. Other featured speakers include:

  • Retired U.S. Navy Admiral and Chief International Security Analyst for NBC James Stavridis, who will offer his perspectives on global security issues. Adm. Stavridis authored a recent Time magazine cover story, "Democracy Isn't Perfect, But It Will Still Prevail."
  • Democratic strategist Donna Brazile and Republican strategist Ana Navarro, who will share their views on the nation's political environment.
