Washington D.C., (May 8, 2018) — Jeff Poulin, CEO of Canada Life Reinsurance, received the 2018 American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI) Forum 500’s Distinguished Service Award at the Forum 500 CEO Leadership Retreat.

The award is presented to a life insurance company leader whose work has greatly contributed to the industry, especially small and medium-sized life insurance companies that the Forum 500 represents.

“Jeff’s efforts on behalf of the industry have earned him the admiration of his peers, who have chosen to honor him with this prestigious award,” said ACLI President and CEO Dirk Kempthorne. “His effective and energetic representation of the industry and its policyholders before lawmakers in the states and Washington, D.C. has been the epitome of distinguished service. He is an outstanding leader and individual.”

Mr. Poulin began his career as an actuarial assistant at London Life Insurance Company in 1988, the same year he graduated from University Laval. In 1992, he became vice president, life & health for London Life & Casualty Reinsurance Corporation in Barbados.

Mr. Poulin became part of the U.S. operation of the London Reinsurance Group in 1995 when he joined London Life Reinsurance Company in Blue Bell, Pa. He became CEO of Canada Life Reinsurance in May 2017.

He became a fellow of the Society of Actuaries in 1992 and the Canadian Institute of the Actuaries in 1993.
