Washington, D.C. (September 15, 2017) –Executives from the nation’s leading life insurance companies will gather in Orlando for the American Council of Life Insurers’ (ACLI) Annual Conference, Oct. 8-10, 2017 at the Loews Sapphire Falls. This is the premier event for an industry that provides 75 million American families with innovative financial and retirement security solutions.

Inspired by the conference’s theme, “Momentum,” speakers and panelists will discuss the industry’s work to serve its customers during a time of ever-evolving regulatory, legislative and technological challenges.

Setting the tone for the conference, ACLI Chairman Peter Schaefer, president and CEO of Hannover Re US, and ACLI President and CEO Dirk Kempthorne will provide opening remarks on the industry’s history of financial strength and its promise for future generations. During the conference, Mr. Schaefer will pass the ACLI chairmanship to Mark Mullin, president and CEO of Transamerica. Mr. Mullin will serve as chairman through October 2018.

Ron Insana, senior analyst with CNBC, will emcee the conference. Featured speakers will include:

  • Lou Holtz, legendary football coach and analyst, ESPN (2004- 2015);
  • John Boehner, former speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives;  
  • Sen. Bill Nelson (invited), Democratic Senator from Florida; and
  • Mark Halperin, MSNBC and NBC News senior political analyst and New York Times best-selling author.
