The Office of Continuing Medical Education is the mechanism through which the extraordinary faculty and resources of The University of South Florida are made available to practicing clinicians in their effort to remain abreast of the advances in their field in order to provide the highest level of care to their patients and community. Who should attend? This scientific program is designed for life insurance company medical directors and underwriters and other interested parties. Participants represent a wide range of expertise and have day-to-day exposure to current medical issues. Industry suppliers are welcome to attend. Select sessions are eligible for continuing medical education credits.

Course Description:
Life and Disability Insurance Medical Directors require current and up to date medical information in order to assess risks accurately and appropriately. Review of current morbidity and mortality data is crucial in order to better serve the insurance industry and the insurance buying public. The scientific program is designed for the medical officers of legal reserve life insurance companies, who assist ACLI in identifying medical/scientific topics and issues of concern to life insurance medicine and its relationship to the underwriting and claims process. These physicians represent a wide range of expertise and day-to-day exposure to current medical issues. The program's primary purpose is to keep medical officers abreast of state-of-the-art clinical information on pertinent subjects.

Upon completion of this CME activity, the participant will be able to:
· Apply new developments in clinical medicine to risk selection and assessment.
·Improve mortality and morbidity risk assessment for the individual and the population at large.
· Evaluate the expected and actual mortality, morbidity, and the benefits and risks of medical intervention related to disease states
· Provide the insurance medical director insurance medicine physician or insurance company physician-consultant with up-to-date clinical information which will be of value in assessing and reassessing medical risks, prognoses and survivals in day-to-day medical underwriting.

Physicians:
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint sponsorship of USF Health and ACLI. USF Health is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

USF Health designates this educational activity for a maximum of 12.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
