The ACLI Capital Challenge Celebrates 27th Anniversary

Premier Running Race's Proceeds go to D.C. Special Olympics

Washington, D.C. (April 28, 2008) — For the fifth year in a row, the American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI) will sponsor the “ACLI Capital Challenge.” This year’s race takes place April 30th in Anacostia Park at 8:00 a.m. Marking its 27th anniversary as the premier running race in Washington, D.C., the event attracts participants from the three branches of government, the news media and others.

Proceeds from the event will go to D.C. Special Olympics. Supporting sponsors of the event include ACLI member companies ING, MetLife, Northwestern Mutual, Principal Financial Group and Swiss Re.

“The race is a Washington tradition,” said ACLI President & CEO Frank Keating.

“For 27 years, the race has united hundreds of people from various branched of government, judicial branches, and others with one common goal of raising money for a charitable cause. We look forward to some healthy competition amongst colleagues and friends. This is a great race for a great cause,” he said.
