As a representative of an industry that plays a key role in helping Americans save and manage assets to last a lifetime, the American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI) was a proud and active participant of America Saves Week. ACLI President and CEO Frank Keating recently completed 16 interviews with radio stations throughout the nation where he urged Americans to take the necessary steps to prepare for a financially secure retirement. ACLI Raises Concerns Over the CLASS Act
Posted 7/24/2009. The American Council of Life Insurers is seriously concerned over a long-term care provision, the CLASS Act, which is included in health care reform legislation. The proposal would very likely leave participants in the government's new entitlement program unclear about their long-term care insurance coverage.

Life insurers are required to hold enough assets to pay all expected claims, regardless of their stock price. In fact today, life insurers hold approximately three times the capital required by law.
