The linked documents prepared by ACLI's Anti-Money Laundering Working Group in 2006 (now a full Committee in 2008: Anti-Money Laundering and Critical Infrastructure Committee) were provided to the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), a bureau of the U.S. Treasury Department. The linked documents are intended to assist insurance company compliance officers, agents and brokers, and vendors in complying with the new federal regulations requiring insurance companies to establish anti-money laundering (AML) programs and report suspicious activities. The documents specifically address the requirement under the new regulations that insurance companies integrate their agents and brokers into their AML programs. Insurance companies should have complied with the new regulation by May 2, 2006.
