November 12, 2006 - November 14, 2006
Waldorf Astoria New York City New York, NY
International expansion is a key strategy for many life, health and pension providers. Even for those with extensive international experience, the terrain is always shifting (sometimes tectonic) and executing a successful international business plan is by no means guaranteed. This year's Global Financial Leaders Forum “Competencies for Global Expansion: Fit to Travel?” is about the decision to go international and asks the question: Are you Fit to Travel? And more important: Are you Fit to Stay. As many have found out: quick hits are easy but sustained success over the long-term is a much bigger and complex challenge. A key component of the program is research by EDS, supplemented by its affiliates, presenting the latest research from North America and European Union life insurance company respondents on the attributes to succeed internationally. This will include successes for those who have developed a strong brand in different markets, and the pitfalls to avoid.

Seminar on Anti-Money Laundering Rules for Life Insurers
December 15, 2005 - December 15, 2005
Capitol View Conference Center Washington, DC
ACLI has organized a targeted seminar on the new anti-money laundering regulations for life insurers. The standards recently adopted by the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) require the creation of anti-money laundering policies, procedures, and internal controls using a risk-based approach. Life insurers must also integrate agents into AML programs, and establish training and monitoring practices. ACLI worked closely with the Treasury Department over four years as the regulations were developed. The new requirements become applicable May 2, 2006.
The seminar will identify important priorities for insurers' AML programs, and will discuss approaches to challenging issues. Through a series of panel presentations, industry speakers will share valuable insights on a variety of different topics. The seminar should help life insurers identify effective approaches to these important responsibilities, and will include lunch and refreshments.
